During my travels through Eastern Africa, I was fortunate enough to work with the children of Mochudi, Botswana. Children are always the life force of any community. Although they didn’t have the privilege of manufactured board or computer games. They found their fun in found objects or sports like football or track and field.
The children’s friendly gazes and endearing innocence still moves me. These times are still some of the most cherished memories of my journey.
One particular day, a travelling show came to the school where I taught. It was there that I witnessed a puppet show where the genuine curiosity displayed by the children truly warmed my heart.
This painting is a tribute to their boundless joy and unwavering enthusiasm that left such a lasting impression on me.
